The Process

hero-process

Changing land management in such a complicated space takes structured decision-making and lots of sharing of perspectives, technical information, and trust.

If we do it right, our results will be:

  • Consistent with existing authorities
  • Actionable and feasible
  • Relevant to fish recovery
  • Grounded in best available science
  • Supported by a critical mass of communities

The process typically involves six key steps beginning with the clear articulation of the problem and definition of project objectives. As a group, we then identify alternatives for achieving the project objectives, analyze the consequences and trade-offs of each alternative, and make some decisions about actions to advance.

Success for this project is rooted in community support through engagement at two scales:

  • Core Working Group will be comprised of landowners and stakeholders with decision-making authorities and/or management responsibilities within the project area; and
  • Stakeholders are individuals, groups, or organizations interested in the outcome of this planning effort.

The Core Working Group and Stakeholders will participate in virtual meetings, workshops, and site visits to come to a shared understanding of the ecological, regulatory, and habitat management actions associated with anadromous fish habitat restoration.
